His is the founder and medical director of the Groot DermaSurgery Centre, a certified non-hospital surgical facility, where he works with a team of dedicated, experienced individuals who assist him in meeting his patients’ needs. The atmosphere at the Centre is one of caring concern and professional competence.
Dr. Don Groot is one of North America’s foremost authorities on dermatologic and laser surgery. He holds fellowships in dermatology and laser surgery in both Canada and the United States, and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He has written books, contributed to chapters in books, published numerous scientific papers, served as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Contemporary dermatology, hosted seminars, moderated television and radio programs, and lectured worldwide on various medical subjects. Dr. Groot sits on the boards of several medical societies and is a clinical research consultant for several laser companies. He is best known for his expertise in the areas of cosmetic dermatology, dermatologic surgery and laser surgery. Plastic surgeons and dermatologist from around the world have trained with Dr. Groot to learn is unique diagnostic and surgical techniques. |

Dr. Thomas Nakatsui joined the Groot DermaSurgery Centre in July 2000 as a medical dermatologist and hair transplant specialist. He completed his medical training and residency in Dermatology at the University of Alberta. He has also received additional training at several Centers of Excellence including Harvard, the Johns Hopkins Medical Centre, the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Nakatsui specializes in hair transplantation using Follicular Unit Transplantation and the Lateral Slit Technique to replace hair and re-establish natural hair lines in people who suffer from hair loss. |
